Welcome to Aqua Juniors

Yes, all volunteers who support Aqua Juniors have had Enhanced DBS checks. Those responsible for training with the squad have also undergone further training around Safeguarding Children and Young people in Sport, First Aid and are qualified coaches within the England Netball Pathway.

If you are worried about a safeguarding concern you can speak to any one of the Aqua Juniors training or support team, or you can speak directly to the clubs Safeguarding Officer – Kelly Warren - by emailing aquajuniorsnetball@outlook.co.uk.  If you do not wish to speak to anyone of the Aqua Juniors team then you can speak with England Netball’s safeguarding team on 01509 277 850 or NSPCC Safeguarding in Sport Unit on 0808 800 5000.

When a safeguarding concern is raised there are three main actions that could happen; 1) The concern is dealt with by the clubs safeguarding officer; 2) The concern is raised with England Netball and action may be taken by them; 3) The concern, if serious enough will be raised with the Police or Local Authority and action may be taken by them.

If the concern is so serious that it can not be dealt with within Aqua Juniors then it will need to be raised with either England Netball or the responsible Public Body (Police or Local Authority). We will always endeavour to let you know that your concern will be raised with these organisations and why. The safety of any child, young person or adult at risk will always be our paramount concern.

As a player and a parent/caregiver you always have the option to raise your concerns with England Netball or NSPCC Sport Unit (0808 800 5000).
